urEZsignup-BizStrat2019After two years, urEZsignup will be spinning off to its own division.  This software began with a need for a non-profit event management system and was rolled out with an innovative admin login that integrated in real-time reports for common needs at events.  The check-in list, name badge creation and payment reports allow the event staff to easily manage check-in, follow ups, and more.  The event schedules and limits on workshops allow regrouping and consolidation to have a well-run event.  With the non-profit FlyTall, the group also benefits from the lower credit card processing rate as a non-profit entity serving youth in STEM and growth initiatives to prepare girls for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Chicago Business Journals in combination with Vistage and Explore St Louis joined forces to recognize 37 Chicago Business Leader who are the 2018 Women of Influence Nominees.  Their success does not stop in the office, they are on boards, starting non-profits, participating in paying it forward, and doing things that cultivate both today’s and tomorrow’s talent pool.

They are working to increase diversity, opportunity and promotion of people in many areas of business.  Technology, finance, consulting, healthcare, enginering, utilities, and more were represented.

Each Honoree was presented with their award while being introduced with fun facts about each of them.

Partnering with Chicago Start-ups

aa544936894301.572cf4292d888We enjoyed sharing with the Technori Live audience the details around our initiatives to work with Chicago Start-ups.  The right fit with a technology partner is especially important when it comes to start-ups where the capital to fund the idea to reality phase of a new innovative idea is more valuable than most.  When we took on TuttleView, the founder, Jaci Volles had an idea that was spectacular but hadn’t been able to find the right fit technology partner to bring it to life, this is where BizStrat Technology came in and shared the vision and had the technology team to make it a reality.

 

They have grown from 100 to 1000 products and from 20 to over 150 artisans across the United States.  A retail market place with chat, video and c-commerce all collided to bring the eSocial platform to the real world.  The concept can be applied to an everchanging world where the interactions face-to-face continue to be a stuggle where busy lives and immediate lifestyles have taken away our social interactions with friends and family.  Now the multi-tasker can have fun, catch up with family and shop/learn all in an hour or less.

Now that’s efficiency!

SuperComputer Support Campaign

BizStrat Technology is participating in a campaign to support the funding of the addition of a supercomputer at Lewis University – Romeoville, IL campus.

According to Michelle Mikka-Van Der Stuyf, President & CEO, “The ability to give the students a leg up with a resource, a supercomputer,  which is not commonplace at other institutions is key to giving them hands-on experience that sets them apart from other college graduates, providing a competitive edge nationwide.”  

This initiative aligns with BizStrat Technology’s continued support of the incoming technology talent pipeline.  The company also sponsors mentees, interns and job shadowing opportunities.  “The future of the technology industry is impacted significantly by the incoming tech talent pool, with the ever changing technology needs, new, diverse and fresh perspectives are needed iin the industry”, states the company CEO.  Many board members and industry professionals, from Argonne National Laboratory, various technology development and software companies in the Chicagoland area are converging to make this addition a reality!

CS Roundtable at UI Labs

ui-labsUI Labs provided the venue for Industry & Education to converge and spend a full day with Students, Teachers and industry leaders to discuss how to close the gap on Computer Science For All initiatives in Chicagoland. Tata Consulting Services sponsored the event along with STEMconnector, and BizStrat Technology was among the industry representatives in the room. The collaboration between education and industry is key to making sure the up and coming IT talent as early as Pre-K is ready for entry into high tech jobs.

The readiness of future talent is critical to the success of industry and the economy overall. UI Labs hosted this event which included a student/teacher perspective and Leadership Perspective panels as well as three breakouts where brainstorming on the needs and methods to meet these growing expectations was tackled. Lunch included two key briefing updates, one from the national level, by Ruthe Farmer, White House Senior Policy Advisor and at a Chicagoland level, by Brenda Wilkerson, advocate from CPS for the Computer Science For all initiative.
